Experts from the Augustenberg Agricultural Technology Center, the Bioland Advisory Service and the Heilbronn Potato Advisory Service will be demonstrating various aspects of organic potato cultivation. They will show over 20 different varieties, including numerous new breeds. Visitors will be able to discuss aspects such as haulm habit, tuber formation, disease resistance, yield, suitability for storage and taste with them.
In addition, the influence of different planting material qualities resulting from disease infestation by Rhizoctonia solani, pre-germinated planting material, different tuber sizes or the effect of certified planting material will be examined in more detail. The various methods of mechanical care and the influence of irrigation on growth and quality are also illustrated by the experts in the special topic.
