Our trial technicians have already sown 350 plots on the demo area, including, for example, winter crops of fine-seeded and large-grain legumes, rapeseed and cereals. They created an ideal seedbed by using a lightweight single-axle implement carrier with a power harrow. With this combination of implements, they avoid damaging soil pressure and negative effects on the fields and paths next to the plots.
“To protect the emerging seeds from hares, deer and wild boar, we have fenced off the entire demo area,” says Lukas Weber and adds: “In order to consolidate the main paths of the exhibition early on, we are now sowing them with grass so that they can withstand the odd rain shower next year if necessary.” The first weed control has already taken place in the plots that were sown first. The last cut of lucerne grass was made on the areas used for the machine demonstrations.
