Action on the demo plots

“The winter dormancy on the demo plots has been over since around mid-February, at least as far as the field work is concerned,” says trial technician Hendrik Wieligmann. He was also active during the winter months to protect the winter crops from being eaten or frost. “In February, we then started fertilizing and cutting the first grass on the paths. The first seeds were sown at the beginning of March, but were repeatedly interrupted by changes in the weather,” continues Wieligmann. Sowing the sugar beet and weed control in the wintering plots are currently at the top of his to-do list. In April, he will continue with the sowing of grass mixtures, potatoes, maize and soybeans, for example.
